Takoradi Airport is the primary airport in the city of Sekondi-Takoradi, which is also the capital of the Western Region of southern Ghana. During World War II, Takoradi Airport was used as a Royal Air Force station. It used to be a refueling stop for aircrafts flying between Monrovia-Roberts Field in Liberia and Apapa Airport in Nigeria.
